Keeon Johnson: (Owner and founder of Athlete’s Edge)

Keeon grew up in the Houston/Klein area and was a stand-out High School football player at Klein Oak High School. He went on to play at The University of New Mexico State and eventually played professionally in both Europe and in the Arena Football league here in the States. He holds a B.S. degree from New Mexico State in Criminal Justice. After he moved back to Houston he found himself in the fitness world and after receiving numerous certifications including the American Council of Exercise (A.C.E) and National Academy of Sports Medicine (N.A.S.M.), Keeon became a Sports Performance Specialist. Working with over 50 Division I athletes and twice as many local high school athletes in the Spring/Klein area. Keeon has proved to be one of the leading trainers in the area for Fitness and Sports Specific training.

Ernest Brown: (Senior Marketing Director/Facility Manager)

Ernest is from Tucson, Arizona and played many sports in his younger days. He is an Honorable Athlete mention from Santa Rita High School. His passion for sports allowed him to coach, officiate, and work for the Department of Defense on United States Army Garrison Yongsan in Seoul, South Korea. He worked for the Child and Youth Services organization (CYS) since 2011 and held the title of Sports Specialist/Assistant Director for CYS Youth Sports from 2013-2017. He was responsible for assisting, conducting, coordinating, administering, managing and maintaining an on-going indoor/outdoor sports program, which met the needs, and interests of approximately 2,500 children and youth aged 3-18. He is also a Certified Youth Sports Administrator and Clinician through the National Alliance for Youth Sports (NAYS).

Gerald Stewart: (Speed Coach)

Gerald Stewart was a high school Track, Basketball, Football star at Karnes City High School. He then went on to receive a track scholarship from Ranger Jr. College where he achieved Honors: Texas Relays mile relay record, national leading mile relay and 2nd sprint relay. After Ranger Jr. College Gerald attended Texas Tech University where he received a B.S. in Physical Education and Biology. Then Sam Houston University for a Masters in Kinesiology.

Marcus grew up in the Houston area and was a graduate of Aldine McArthur. At McArthur Marcus played baseball, basketball and ran track. After high school Marcus joined the United States Army for four years. After his service started school at Texas Southern University where he was a standout track star.

Kelly Skehan: (Sports Performance Coach, Soccer Trainer)

Kelly grew up in the Spring Klein area, was an All-State player for Klein High School class of 2007. She went to play two years for Navarro College and her remaining two years at West Texas A&M University. Her first two years she played defender and last two as an All American Goalkeeper. She holds the second place title for the most saves in a career for West Texas A&M University. After college she played professional soccer for the Houston Aces for two years. She believes to play a sport is one thing and to coach it is a whole other world. Her coaching philosophy is to help encourage and push someone mentally, and physically to help them attain their goals.

Vanell Henderson, NASM-CPT (Personal Trainer)

Vanell is from Monroe, LA. Vanell has been into fitness since the tender age of 15, while playing sports in High School. In August of 2000, he relocated to Houston, TX. This is where his love for fitness grew even more. In 2013, Vanell embarked on his Personal training career, becoming a Certified Personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). He continues to grow his knowledge through fitness seminars and reading different Health and Fitness publications. Vanell uses his passion for fitness and his unique challenging style of training to motivate his clients to accomplish their fitness goals and maintain a positive self-image. He works with his clients to help them achieve and maintain the healthy lifestyle they always knew they could have.
